Cardiologist,, Jamie Oliver, Commputers, Subs,

This afternoon, went to see the cardiologist who seems to think I am pretty healthy and doesn't want to do anything about an angiogram until I see the vascular surgeon. Basically, since I had the 2 units of blood my legs have been a lot better, don't think I need the vascular surgeon but another couple of pints LOL.

I was staggered to see headlines about the collapse of Jamie Oliver's empire. TV cook and restaurateur - never thought that would happen. Hilary, if you are reading this, I would love to hear what you know about this. I always liked his programmes plus he worked with kids at schools etc. some of whom didn't know the difference between a stick of celery and a cucumber.

I think I am going to be forced into buying a new laptop - not only does this one have the cursor problems but it takes forever for the browser to open. Plus, I have just typed the last two sentences with nothing appearing on the screen for a while.

My appointment was at 3 and it was gone 4 before we left for home. I was hungry although so early in the day. I took a different route to avoid the pothole where I burst my tire and ended up at a one way roadworks where we were held up for a while. In the end it was close on 5 by the time we got near Subway and I suddenly wanted a sub. Haven't had one since Matt lost his license. He used to pop down and get one now and again. I went in and got a couple of 6" ones and saw they had a hot sauce so decided to have it on mine. It was good. Nice to have a sub after so long and also saved me having to cook late in the day.

Have a great day

  1. Glad you got some food organised! Also good news re the heart chap for now ... hope that continues on.

Re Jamie Oliver - it's not the sort of thing I pay attention to ... we don't have one of his restaurants down here (Brighton, yes) ... and the only one I ever went to was his London flagship one ... when a friend was over from SA and she was determined to go there and we met some other friends. But it was about the worst time for me as far as my mother was concerned ... my uncle was also ill at that stage ... and I nearly collapsed/went over the top - I managed to get to town, but was 'dead on my feet and in my head' ...

This was 12 years ago ... I guess ... and Fifteen was thriving then. He was no longer running the restaurant businesses ... and had injected some millions into them last year to keep them going - obviously not going to do it again.

Too many middle class restaurants ... and lots of new ones popping up - with cheaper options, lower rents, and food deliveries ...

Hope that helps ... cheers Hilary

    1. Thanks Hilary. Didn't realise he wasn't running the restaurants any more. Pity they are failing.

  2. Shame about the restaurants. Sounds like there were other things he was doing that would've been a better focus of time and money.

    1. It is a shame Alex, but as you say, he apparently was focusing elsewhere.

  3. So glad your legs are still feeling better! I hadn't heard about Jamie Oliver. I'll ask my daughter if she knows anything because she likes him.

  4. Glad you are doing better. Poor Jamie Oliver who seems to be a nice man. Many people forget that people in the entertainment field often rely on their accountants and assistants to handle the business matters because they are either too busy or they are not good in this matter so they hire people who are. I bet we will find out over time, what happened. I feel bad for him because now he will get blamed for being inept and we forget that he is a human being.

  5. Yeah, was also surprised and sad for Jamie Oliver - and his staff... like you said, he's always trying to help the youth unlike other celeb chefs.

Hope the new PC, if you get one, works out!
