Well I had my EGDoscopy on Wednesday and I am pleased to report he didn’t find anything although he took a couple of biopsies to send off. What a day. By 8 a.m. I had eaten my light breakfast and finished my last cup of coffee. All day long I wanted more coffee and Matt eating lunch was painful. That’s the last time I do that although I would have had to wait til February to get a morning appointment. Then when I finally get into the operating room they sprayed my throat with the most filthy tasting stuff. I was somewhat teed off. Before they put me under, I asked if I could bowl and the surgeon said “I don’t know, can you?” – fuuuny. Anyway he confirmed that I could and assured me the procedure wouldn’t make me bowl any better. Actually, Thursday afternoon we bowled and I had one good game and two lousy ones. Felt tired and my pain, which caused all this stuff, was making itself felt. Maybe it didn’t help the surgeon poking around in my stomach. Oh well. Yesterday when I got home, I wasn’t supposed to do much of anything including eating. Water first, then soup and crackers. No problems. Not eating all day didn’t help my weight either. I thought it would.
I don’t know if my blogs have got boring or uninteresting, but my readership has sure dropped off lately and the comments even more so. Not that I want the hundreds of comments some people get, but I do like to get a few.
I started this earlier on Thursday, by the late afternoon I started to feel like sh*t. Assume because of being poked around or something. So not a good blog today. Not even a recipe, sorry. Couldn't even get the posting date and time right. Oh well. Must say I wasn't really expecting this. Felt fine last night, guess I was still sedated.
Jo, dropped by on a break from NaNo, and I'm sure it's why your readership and comments have dropped. Writing 50,000 words in 30 days takes time and concentration and blogging has fallen to the side for most of the participants, me included. I do hope you are feeling better soon and all that test results come back negative. Take care, and don't fret - we'll all be back soon! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Yolanda. I hadn't thought about NaNo. Good luck to you.
DeleteThanks for the good wishes, think I feel better today.
I've been NaNoing, too, Jo, and only checking blogs every couple of days. I'm glad I've been spared the throat spray. They just knock me out and the next thing I know I'm waking up several hours later but I always feel a bit off and tired for a couple of days after so I wouldn't worry too much. I hope you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteAs I said, hadn't thought about NaNo. I also had a sore throat last night, OK this morning though. Thanks.
DeleteMy visits have dropped too, but I think part of that is because of NaNo like Yolanda and Helen mentioned. Glad your EGDoscopy came out ok, and here’s hoping your test results will come back ok as well. I went bowling on Halloween with the kids, bowled a 75. I started out strong and then got progressively worse. I blame the beer. Take care of yourself Jo and I hope you’re feeling better today.
ReplyDeleteAmazing you are all doing NaNo. I think the tests should be OK. You are talking 10 pin in Paris. 75 is about par for me in that game. I have broken the 100 but not often. Yup, feeling a bit better this morning.
DeleteHope you feel better soon Jo.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what NaNoing is (so haven't been doing that) but I'm not spending so much time as usual on the computer/Blog to rest my neck/shoulder a bit.
I'm away from tomorrow with limited internet access (David and I share a travel laptop and he will be working on a couple of website designs whilst we are away - so he'll be hogging it)!
Catch up in December and hope your health, and your bowling are much improved by then
Yes, I do hope your neck and shoulder will improve soon. I've had a shoulder problem for a year and it's damned painful sometimes.
DeleteHave fun in Fuerte. I envy you would like a trip to somewhere like that right now.
Thanks, me too.
I read your blog first thing every morning and enjoy it greatly. Don't know what NaNo is and why it would affect blogs though. Hope you feel better soon. Lulu
ReplyDeleteThanks Lulu, you've all been cheering me up. NaNoWriMo is when authors are challenged to write 50,000 during the month of November which means they have to get their heads down and slog at it. Many excellent novels have come out of this competition.
DeleteI feel lots better this morning, thanks.
Hi Jo - glad the results were none too serious .. you always feel rotten after being intruded into ... but glad you were able to bowl - even if it just took your mind away from 'things' ... glad to read you feel better - Hilary
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilary. There are still the biopsy tests of course, but think there shouldn't be a problem.
