Freebies,

I am now expecting some coupons. I eat Hershey's Kisses regularly and bought a new packet this week. When I opened them I found a wrapper with no chocolate. I phoned the company who said they were sold by weight and foil didn't weight much so I wasn't really short. However, they would send me a coupon. I also eat some crackly pork skins called Baken-ets and the latest packet had quite a lot of them which were totally inedible. I broke my tooth on them last December - should have complained then I guess. Anyway, getting a coupon for those too so I am quite chuffed. By the way, we cannot get dark chocolate Hershey's Kisses in Canada for some reason. Get all kinds of varieties but not dark chocolate. Matt basically only likes dark chocolate, I only like milk chocolate. I like them because each Kiss is only 22 calories so they aren't too harmful.

Bowling not too good today (Thursday) as my IBS started to play me up. Could've come home but as I said to Matt it was either come home and suffer or bowl and suffer so I opted for the second choice.

So, sorry, feeling too sorry for myself.

Have a great day

  1. I wouldn't say you're feeling sorry for yourself. You powered through the IBS and still bowled. I have IBS, I usually just curl up on the couch with a pillow.

    1. It seems a lot of people have it Liz. I didn't realise I did for many years.

    1. I was diagonsed with spastic colon 40 years ago Ivy, didn't really know what that was and then recently googled and found it was IBS. I haven't suffered from it during that time though.

    2. Glad you haven't suffered from it for all those years. But even just a little bit is still not fun.

    3. Well Ivy, I was told, 40 years ago, that I had a spastic colon. Used to have a lot of trouble with it, then it calmed down. I only recently discovered that that was the same as IBS which I guess has recently started up. Had no trouble with it for years though.

  3. Sorry you can't get dark chocolate. And if you chipped a tooth, I'd just skip eating those pork skins completely.

    1. Only the Kisses in dark choc Alex. I didn't chip it I broke it. But they are too good to give up completely, I just avoid the ones that aren't properly crisped.

  4. Glad you got the coupons! Complaining always, or often, seems to work:) I'm glad you could bowl despite the IBS which is a pain in more ways than one. I hate those attacks. Chocolate always seems to fix so much:)

  5. We're living parallel lives. I chipped a tooth this week that I had cracked as a pre-teen, and I've been wondering if I have IBS. Enjoy your coupons at least.

    1. Two things we don't really want to be parallel with Melissa. I was told many years ago that I had a spastic colon and a nurse acquaintance said she had never heard of it. I only recently Googled it and found out it was IBS. Won't get my coupons for a week yet.

  6. I was able to buy the dark choc kisses here a few years ago. I wanted them for the purple wrappers because I made wedding favours with them. Sorry about your IBS though. It's very uncomfortable but you still persevered so good for you!!

    1. Yes. I have bought the dark choc ones in the States JoJo. I don't know why they don't sell them here.

Didn't know I had IBS til recently.

  7. At least you know that Matt won't pinch your chocolates. I've never received freebies from food products but I got a free face cream once because the jar was impossible to open.

    1. I don't know, he has pinched a few of my mini Coffee Crisps Pinky. Free face cream is good.

  8. I think companies like it when you complain instead of bad mouthing them all over the place. Enjoy those Hershey's. Thankfully, we can't buy them in Australia! Well, maybe if I looked harder...but I won't!

    1. Never thought of that Denise, you are probably right. Actually those Kisses are great because you can have one or two without harming your weight.

  9. IBS is the pits. I've watched my son suffer with it. Of course, he would have less discomfort if he stuck to the diet but doing things the easy way is not his style.

    1. I didn't even know there was a diet Helen. I have been eating more or less the same as long as I can remember. It's only recently flared up again.
