Wishful thinking. My community allowed a large show the other night in the middle of a subdivision across the road. They justified their decision because they had fire trucks standing by. Genius.
Happy Canada Day from suburban Toronto. ☺ Fireworks are such a pain! We get them right next to us in the schoolyard and the dogs all freak out. Why can't they be confined to public displays? It shouldn't be allowed to sell them to individuals, in my opinion.
Thanks Debbie. I do so agree with you. We had one banger let off at 3 this afternoon. Yes, there are places all over selling fireworks. You aren't far from me then?
Depends where you are. ☺ I'm in Oakville, but rarely mention that online. Nice to meet you, Jo. I followed your link from Denise Covey's blog. P.S. We'll be celebrating 43 years of marriage this year, too. Looks like we have a few things in common. The fireworks weren't as bad as usual tonight, but there's still the rest of the weekend.
Kitchener. We also have Birgit on this comment page who comes from the Niagara region. Actually I am just ahead of you, it's 44 years in September. We had fireworks all round us last night, parks, auditoriums, etc. etc. however, I was so tired I went to bed and after a very short while, never heard a thing.
I've already been asked to sponsor someone LOL. I do so hope you won't feel the need to run. Thanks for the good wishes. Talking about the orange man, did you see the joke in my blog a couple of days ago, I thought it was clever. I posted it on the 28th. Do check it out.
Thanks Diane and happy Fourth to you. I miss NC especially at this time of year. Used to go out on the boats and watch Swansboro fireworks from the water. Plus have a few parties around and about.
Happy Canada Day. I'm a little late because yesterday's hospital tests meant I didn't get onto the internet except for a brief post on Facebook. Funny thing was while I was sitting in the waiting room they told us they had free wi-fi available. So if I'd taken my phone with me I would have seen your post earlier.
Pity you didn't know about the wifi at the Hospital. In my experience they keep you hanging around so long it would be good to have something to occupy your time. Thanks for the good wishes Helen.
Happy Canada Day!!! So next year is the sesquicentennial eh? I'm sure there will be big doings next July 1st!
ReplyDeleteThanks JoJo. Yes, I was thinking the same thing when I realised it was 149 this year.
DeleteEnjoy the fireworks.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Denise. Probably 3 days of them. It is damp and rainy today - any hope they might forego them do you think?

DeleteDid they have earplugs standing by as well, for all the animals and people who don't like them for whatever reason?
DeleteHappy Canada Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex
DeleteHappy Canada Day!!
ReplyDeletebetty
Thanks Betty

DeleteHappy Canada Day from two Americans who may soon be your neighbors if a certain angry orange man takes over control of our country!

DeleteHappy Canada Day as well! Thankfully there is a ban on fireworks and fires at homes due to so little rain so I am happy
ReplyDeleteTo you too Birgit. I haven't heard of any bans here. It did rain this morning. Did you get any?
DeleteHappy Canada Day to you!

ReplyDeleteThanks Susan.

ReplyDeleteSame to you for Monday Yolanda.
