Online Shopping, Book,

Well I have been spouting off about how good online shopping is, but this week/weekend I was concerned as Monday is the Canada Day Holiday, about getting my usual time slot, so I posted my order a tad early. Always you have the ability to add or change your order until midnight of the day before you are picking up, not this week though, everything seems to have been screwed up and the web site keeps asking for my password and doesn't ever take me to where I can change my order. Teeing me right off. The company assures me they are working on it. I hope so.

I have just finished a book I wasn't sure I was going to read after the first few pages but persevered and glad I did, I enjoyed it. How to Stop Time by Matt Craig. He has written other books which I will have to check out. This is the Goodreads Page talking about it. Turns out Matt Haig is better known than I realised and writes for kids as well as adults. He was also born in Sheffield, England, which is not too far from where I was born although somewhat longer ago than Matt Haig.

As I sit here writing, I can hear bangs and see flashes of fireworks as today I Canada Day. No doubt there will be more tomorrow because that is the day people are having a holiday. Nothing much will be open of course.

One thing I have ordered for my shopping this week is the wraps and ingredients to make Spring Rolls, everyone tells me how marvellous they are in the air fryer so I figured I should give it a go. Although their website is still not working properly, I have managed to make some changes to my order over the weekend although I am unable to leave any notes for the shopper so the site is still not working properly.

This sounds like a really easy and tasty salad to make. Always like Tzatziki. One thing, I would NOT use any other but an English or seedless cucumber. Also, a good way of using up rotisserie chicken from the store.

Tzatziki Chicken Salad

We made a classic Greek sauce of creamy yogurt and cucumber for the base of this tangy salad. Serve
with Mixed Greens Salad.

2/3 cup plain 2% reduced-fat Greek yogurt
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
1 Tbs fresh lemon juice
2 tsp chopped fresh dill
3/8 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 cucumber, seeded and shredded
1 garlic clove, minced
2 cups shredded skinless, boneless rotisserie chicken breast
3 oz multigrain pita chips
Mixed Greens Salad

Combine first 8 ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk. Add chicken; toss to coat. Serve with pita chips

Servings: 4

  1. It's frustrating when websites won't work right. I hope you get it sorted out.

The recipe sounds good and it's light. I'll have to try it out.

  3. Hi Jo - love tzatziki with food ... but obviously with spring rolls would give both that extra lift. Good luck making the spring rolls - gosh I didn't hear fireworks ... but possibly because of the fire hazard aspects ... cheers Hilary

  4. When I was in Victoria, BC for Canada Day six years zgo, I was told that individuals are not allowed to set off fireworks. Great idea. On Saturday morning when I was grocery shopping I was busy dodging all the checklist shoppers with their big dollies for collecting groceries. We have six reserved spots in the parking lot for checklist users. They do not even have to get out of the car.

    1. Basically we are in the middle of two official fireworks sites Denise, but some idiot set off some really loud bangers at around and then more at midnight.

Shopping online is the same, you don't have to get out,, just go to designated parking spot and they bring it to you.

  6. I had Tandoori tzatziki and chicken for lunch on Saturday! I love it as a dip with corn chips too. The book looks interesting. I imagine he made an authentic history teacher.
