Online Shopping, Lunch,

Used online shopping again for today. One problem, to me anyway, I clicked on the frozen shrimp I had bought a couple of times recently for $6.99, you will remember I mentioned it, and when I clicked on it the price shown was still the same. However, when I picked up the order today, the price had increased by $4 odd. Sorry, if you select an item at one price, they should NOT increase it - I wouldn't have bothered at the increased price.

We went to lunch at the Red Lobster with a friend - hadn't seen her in a while, had a nice chat. Also a nice lunch. I weakened and had two of their biscuits. I also ordered their Sweet Chili Shrimp which I've had before and is absolutely delicious but I did know it was over 1,000 calories a serving. Oh well. I have just discovered there is a recipe for it online but I don't think I need to know. Matt had Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms and our friend had a pasta dish, not sure what seafood was in it, lobster maybe. I asked two of the staff when CrabFest would be on again and nobody seemed to know!!!

I tried a recipe I have on file for tonight's supper (Tuesday) and was very pleased with it. I wasn't too sure about a) cooking the asparagus in oil and b) the combination with mushrooms, but it worked very well. I'm not sure why I haven't tried it before.

Angel Hair Pasta with Asparagus

8 oz angel hair pasta
1 Tbs olive oil
1 1/2 lbs fresh asparagus cut into 1 inch pieces
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

1. Cook pasta according to package directions

2. Heat olive oil in non stick skillet. Sauté asparagus in the pan over med. heat for about 3 mins with garlic. Add broth and mushrooms, cook 3 minutes more.

3. Drain pasta and tranfer to a serving dish. Gently toss pasta with asparagus mixture; sprinkle with Parmesan, parsley and crushed pepper

Servings: 4

Have a great day

  1. I'd be pretty annoyed if they upped the price after I ordered something, too. I don't think it's legal to do that here.

  2. They should honor the online price, for certain. Or at least be given a notification of the price increase and see if you still want it.

    1. Yes they should have Liz, however, they have given me a $5 discount for my next order.

  3. I'd send them an email and complain. I am doing just that today with a store who rang up my bill wrong. I usually get a store credit on my account.
I looked up some recipes for the shrimp and not knowing how RL does there's (fried?) I did find some that sound tasty and not full of calories. Like preparing in the oven.
    Pasta sounds good too.

    1. I did email them Denise. They have given me a credit of $5 for my next order. I found a recipe as well but didn't really study it. In the oven would be good. We enjoyed the pasta.

  4. If you paid one price online, that's the one they should honor. Their fault for not changing it. Glad they gave you a credit.

    1. Yes, it did Hilary, thanks. And shrimp or asparagus are good together or apart. How is your access to seafood in BC?

    1. You'd think so but then I wrote to RL on line and they don't know either because, they say, the dates are not yet set!! However, Birgit, because I had signed up for their newsletter, I got a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert. I think they do something for birthdays too. Naturally I signed Matt up as well, LOL.
