Internet, Speech, Movie

A quickie as it's late and I only just got internet back.

I was absolutely gobsmacked about Melania Trump's speech which was a plagiarism of Michelle Obama's speech. Who was stupid enough to make that big a gaffe? Makes them look such fools.

Just watched A Fistful of Dollars. Enjoyed it years ago but watching it with Matt he will not shut up with his criticisms. He should have been a continuity person, he notices absolutely every error and totally spoils my enjoyment. Grrr. I tell him to shut up but although he does for a few minutes, something sets him off again. Matt is totally unable to suspend disbelief and just enjoy something. I managed to shut my ears for most of the movie though.

Right, I'm off to bed. Sorry no recipe.

Have a great day

  1. Hi Jo - interesting to find out about the plagiarising ... as you say 'stupid'. I don't think Trump is a family man ... if he discards wives every couple of decades ...

Fistful of Dollars - great movie ... I'm sure with flaws - all films have them ... but as you say - just enjoy ...

    Cheers Hilary

    1. I replied to your comment earlier Alex, it seems to have gone into cyber space. I can't avoid seeing some of the coverage as Matt watches things like GMA which is full of it of course. I don't watch TV as such except for Jeopardy and the odd movie or nature show.

  3. I stopped going to the theatre to see movies as the folks couldn't shut up - during the day and mostly seniors in the theatre. Watched the movie 'Room' last night - a Canadian indie pic. Quite interesting.

    1. I rarely get to the movies any more Denise, Matt won't go and I have never got up the courage to go alone. Never heard of Room.

  4. My mother has the exact same complaint about my father. Scotto complains about me critising movies too. I'm sure it's an annoying habit.

    1. Can't seem to reply to you Pinky. It is an annoying habit. Your mother, Scotto and I should get together and stop you all.

Told Matt about your invite to stay, he said is she paying the fares too LOL

  5. Hi human, Jo,

Hooray for having the internet back. Over here, they are making a big deal about Melania Trump's speech and played the similar parts of Michelle's speech, side by side. The amount of American pawlitical rubbish we get in the UK, it's almost like we were there. Thankfully, we're not.

Is that movie you watched one of those spaghetti Westerns?

    Pawsitive wishes,

    Penny!

    1. Hi Penny. Nice to hear from you. We get the same thing in Canada constant American politics. We are closer than you are of course.

Yes, definitely a spaghetti Western, it was the first one I believe.

      Pawsitive wishes to you Penny.

  7. One would think, with all the people around them that someone would say,"Hey, that speech sounds familiar?" The again, Trump and all are idiots. I am really worried he will get in. I love that movie! I know what you mean as my hubby will give comments especially on a film I love to see and he doesn't care. Now if I did that, You would hear my hubby all the way to Kitchener telling me to be quiet and respect what he is watching...grrrrrrr
