Trivia, Yolanda Renèe

Bit of trivia I picked up - Astronauts aboard the International Space Station witness 15 - 16 sunrises and sunsets each day as they orbit the Earth.  I thought that was quite interesting.

I agreed to do a reveal for Yolanda Renèe of DEFENDING THE PEN today and here are her upcoming books. I do wish her every success with the launching of these two books.

After transferring to Seattle to repair his professional reputation, Detective Steven Quaid is unexpectedly demoted to the cold case squad. An insidious man who delivers Quaid the ultimate choice: save his fiancée from an assassin’s bullet or stop the sacrifice of a young girl. Suddenly the effort to salvage his reputation pales in comparison to the loss of a future with the girl of his dreams.
I have been seeing a lot of recipes for flank steak lately, so yesterday we bought one and I hunted for some of these recipes. I used to cook flank steak years ago and had a tried and true recipe of my mother’s, unfortunately I lost it. It is a very tasty and relatively inexpensive cut of beef. This recipe, which I found on Epicurious, particularly appealed to me. Not this weekend as we are going to friend’s for dinner, but maybe next. However, I will keep looking.

    2. Thanks again Diane and Jo, The spider on the cover really shocked me, but it was right too. Never would have thought it, since I'm deathly afraid of the things. :)

  3. Jo, thank you so much. I'm really late today, wasn't expecting that, but here I am making the rounds and enjoying the thrill of achievement. I can't wait till they are finally ready for purchase.
I hope your fourth was fun, we had family and food and fireworks, and a black snake under my chair. 6ft long and feisty - I almost fainted. It was real, and on my closed in sun porch, my favorite place in the world - not any more! :)
I had just moved from the chair after sitting on it for over an hour and it came crawling out the back. I have a cover over it to protect it from the bugs and dirt, so I never saw under there nor did anyone else until it crawled out. I won't be sitting there for a long long time to come, if ever!
Thanks again for the cover reveal. Today is a good day!

    1. You are very welcome Yolanda.

The black snake sounds like a black racer, they are basically harmless and can move like lightening. Not one you want to meet, but not poisonous.

Didn't celebrate the 4th as we are no longer in the States sadly.
