Friday, Cameras,

So, its Friday, Michael Jackson is still hitting the headlines and no doubt will be for weeks; tomorrow is the 4th of July which means big celebrations in the States - wish I was there, we used to have great fun on the 4th. I picked up a tip from Sam Champion on GMA this morning, if you want to take pix of fireworks, unless your camera actually has a fireworks setting (some of the newer ones do) you need to set it to landscape which will enable you to take decent pictures of all the rockets in the sky. I wish I had known that on Wednesday, I might have had a go at taking some. I haven't much of interest to write about this morning so on to the recipe. This morning the emphasis on GMA was 'country' with a country singer, Brad Paisley and a cowboy cook, Grady Spears. This is one of his recipes for the 4th. Grady Spears' Corn Casserole Servings: 4 Taunia's mom came up with this side dish, and it's one of the most requested items Taunia makes at the ranch. You may want to double the recipe, because everyone always wants a second helping. 1 can creamed corn (15-ounce) 1 can whole kernel corn (15-ounce), undrained 2 eggs, beaten 2 tablespoons sugar 1/3 cup corn bread mix (from package) 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted 2 jalapenos, stemmed, seeded, and minced 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese, divided Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Stir the corn, eggs, sugar, corn bread mix, melted butter, jalapenos, and1/2 cup of the cheese together in a large bowl. Transfer the mixture to a buttered 8 by 8-inch baking pan. Bake for 40 minutes; sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese on top and bake for 20 minutes longer. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Have a great day.

  1. What an unnecessary thing a fireworks setting is on a camera. How many firework display do we come across in a year?

  2. Actually, over here, quite a few. A lot of major holidays have fireworks celebrations although I believe some were cancelled yesterday.
