GMA fun, Transplants, Protective Dogs, GM, ED.

I mentioned earlier in the week that the GMA anchors were having a "battle" today. During the week we saw them practice all kinds of things including limbo dancing and pancake tossing, but not one of these was part of the final game today. They still did the trampoline, they had kids in a pen with lots of balls to put in baskets and finally they had a foot race with different stages like a three legged section and then dressing up in clothes and wearing fins to run down the track. It was all good fun. However, the best bit was when the two guys, Chris and Sam sat on the edge of a dunking pool and people threw balls to drop them into the water. They got dropped twice. GMA also had an interview with Isabelle Denoire who was the world's first face transplant patient, as Marilyn of French Marilyn's Blog (this page) had already told me. She is looking pretty incredible and it must be heartening for America's first face transplant patient, Connie Culp, to see the results. Isabelle said one of the problems she had was feeling that the inside of her mouth wasn't part of her. She says its OK now, but she still can't pucker up to give her grandchildren a kiss. If you would like to read the article click here to see GMA's page. There were a lot of good snippets on GMA this morning, one story about a dog, which looked like a German Shepherd, protecting its mother which had been hit by a car. Luckily the mother dog was OK in the end. However, the Shepherd wouldn't let the cops get anywhere near the injured dog. It didn't show you how they finally managed to get hold of her and take her to a vet. The owners didn't even know the dogs had got out until they saw it on TV. There was also a lot about the GM dealerships closing down in the States. The GM truck plant in Oshawa, Ontario, has just closed its doors too. I must say I would think saturation point can't be far off anyway, the way these plants were churning out vehicles. Its very hard on the employees I know and I am not sure what is going to happen because there aren't any jobs for them to transfer to. Another comment was about the timing of adverts on TV for Cialis and Viagara etc. which deal with erectile dysfunction. Representative Jim Moran is saying the ads are not suitable for prime time TV when families are watching together. I must say I agree, for instance, how do you explain to a child what a 4 hour erection is? But then I have been saying for several years that nothing is sacred in ads any more. I don't think feminine hygiene products should be blatantly advertised on TV either and the other day we even saw an ad for sex phone talk, I couldn't believe it, that's advertising porn if you like!!! We ate these phyllo bundles last year and they were delicious. I actually don't have any asparagus at the moment, we need to take a drive over to Barrie's Asparagus Farm, probably this afternoon. Asparagus Phyllo Bundles Paula Deen For one roll: Phyllo - 1/2 sheet for 2 asparagus 2 stalks asparagus Parmesan, grated Brush phyllo with butter, sprinkle with Parmesan, place 2 asparagus in middle and roll. Place in baking dish, sprinkle more Parmesan and put in oven 375 F for 15 mins. Have a great day.
